In the beginning of the winter of 2005, a handful of askanim presented the problem of the age gap (with actual statistical information) to the Zekan Roshei Yeshivos, Maran Rav Shmuel Berenbaum Zt"l. Rav Shmuel zt"l declared "mir tur nisht shveigin" (we can't remain silent) and immediately called together an asifa of roshei yeshiva with the help of Rav Meir Hershkowitz shlit"a Rosh Yeshiva of Bais Binyomin of Stamford.
On the thirteenth of kislev 5766 approximately 30 roshei yeshiva met together at the home of Maran Rav Shmuel Berenbaum zt"l to discuss the urgency of problem. Upon conclusion of the asifa, a vaad was established to help alleviate the shidduch crisis for the klal. Below are some pictures of the meeting.
